I used to love monkeys more but now I love horses―
just my one ear is a monkeys now and the rest of me is a horse.
I can sleep standing up because hoses do―
but I can still live in a tree or hang by my tail
私は、前は寧（むし）ろモンキーの方が好きだったけれど、今は馬が好き―
今、いかにも私の片方の耳はモンキー、あとは馬。
私は、立ちながら眠る事が出来る、それと云うのも、馬がそうするから―
けれども私は、今まで通り木で過ごし、尻尾（しっぽ）でぶら下がる
